Registered users can now log in, go to menu, community and then look for Parts Base in the tabbed section. Either add or locate parts references from the parts database. You can add categories, subcategories and the parts reference details - including a schematic, .pdf, plus a link to a seller or the manufacturer. Over time we hope to have a parts base with thousands of records - with links to the relevant website, manufacturer, etc. Please do not abuse this section - it's open to all (registered) and if handled correctly can be a mine of information.

We are hoping to upload thousands of records by the end of January, essentially at this stage electronics information. Also please do not forget the OPiC System which has been especially designed for your trade advertising, buying, selling, swapping and posting of services rendered.

Use it, don't abuse it.

Good day

Being an avid Alpha Five user I was busy with a media player which I though you may like. This player does require the run time files which I will gladly share with you BUT I'd like you to go to the Alpha Five website first. Visit Alpha Five and get the trialware version 11 - I haven't downloaded it but you will be able to modify the file which I have added to DropBox here. Active versus Passive Crossover Systems

Anyone whom thought that slapping a home brewed filter together to act as a loudpseaker crossover was a simple task should have his head read. Loudspeaker design is a science with very little fiction.

Recently I got caught up with building two loudspeaker cabinets for some odd drivers I had lying around in the garage. Having built the cabinets I was then caught up in the age old debacle as to whether to go active or passive crossover. This was actually a no contest, I had three amplifiers lying around as well, a Proton 60x60, an Akai 25x25 and a no-name brand home theater 60x60. Now just to make the filters. Initially I thought it a great idea to buy a 3x active crossover but sadly this time of the year most of the shops don't stock or can't get stock. Now to the drawing board - why go active?

It's an undisputed fact that as we become more and more aware of the effects of greenhouse gasses we have become more technical in our ability to become more efficient, from the control of landfills, usage of electricity and gas and of course the way we generate power. Interesting to note that Pella has won the ENERGY STAR partner of the year for the 5th consecutive year.
